built in 1938, the thomas edison memorial tower and menlo park museum, is 14 foot tall (weighing 8 tons) and is perched atop a 118 foot tall tower. it marks the site of edison's greatest triumphs, including the invention of recorded sound and...you guess it, the light bulb! the museum was closed in 2010 for renovations, but i am unsure of whether it has reopened or not. it was surrounded by fencing and appeared to be still undergoing some work. according to the sign, you can take a tour (the museum was closed at the time of my visit), but i am not sure if it is presently open for tours and as there was no one to ask, i guess i will have to visit again on another day to find out for sure. i read that at night the light bulb is illuminated and i was sorely disappointed that i missed out on it. next time! if you have any questions or comments, contact me. please be sure to stop by my facebook and instagram pages for more fun photos. on to my next adventure...
