the statue of rocky balboa is no longer located at the top of the steps at the philadelphia museum of art (located at 2600 benjamin franklin parkway), he is now at the bottom of the steps. but no worries, this way you won't be exhausted and sweaty and wind blown for your rocky selfie after running to the top. some people like to recreate this famous scene. i was not one of those people. i had trouble slowly walking to the top, let alone running. if you are one of those people, more power to ya, my friend!
i was walking down the ben franklin parkway and i could see the italian stallion and i became so excited that i almost forgot to look before running (okay, more like quickly walking...) across the street to obtain my long awaited selfie with the pride of philly and nearly got clipped by a taxi cab. remember: yellow ones don't stop! (please tell me you got my elf reference, since my visit here was during the christmas season, i just couldn't help myself) there wasn't a hoard of ogglers or anything, but there were enough fans milling about that i had to wait to get a tourist free picture with this bronze god. something weird was going on though. i noticed that everyone there seemed to want a picture with rocky's bum. you heard me right...his posterior. glorious as it was, i have no clue why people wanted a picture with it. but then i wanted a picture with rump. so i got one.
please feel free to email me with any questions or interesting tid bits. and be sure to stop by my facebook or instagram pages for more fun photos of my trip to the city of brotheryly love! on to my next adventure...
