abandoned wwII bunker

found this sitting on the beach in cape may point state park. an abandoned wwII bunker. from what i understand it was built in 1942 and was originally 900 feet from the ocean (covered in sod). after looking around the net, i did find photos of it actually sitting in the ocean (up on stilts) thanks to beach erosion...but after efforts of beach restoration, it now sits safely away from the water again. for now. the openings were all boarded up with clear signs telling you to stay out, for your own safety, i imagine. didn't seem to stop the group of brats climbing all over it while i was trying to take pictures. a park ranger actually rode up and asked me not to let my kids climb on it. thing is...not my kids. which i told him quite loudly and firmly to which he apologized for speaking to me in such a jerkish manner. anyway, you'll find this beauty located right on the beach at the cape may light house. if you decide to visit, make sure you wander around a bit, lots of trails.

roaming zombie gnome wwII bunker

as you can see, keep off, keep out and do not enter signs don't seem to bother me too much. i am a zombie. and a gnome. you can't expect me to read. or pay attention. there was absolutely no way to get inside the thing though, which was fine with me. it was a nice day out so me and zombie girl opted to cop a squat on the beach for a short while and enjoy the sunshine. on to my next aventure...
